WELCOME TO RUMSON
With an area of 5.2 square miles and a population of approximately 7,100 people, Rumson is located at the eastern end of a peninsula, between the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers. Once considered a playground for New Yorkers in the summer, Rumson is now a year round community given the easy commute from Manhattan on the high speed ferry. Rumson real estate is a mix of large estates, beach bungalows and seashore colonials. This diversity provides the community with a sense of balance.

Parks & Recreation
There are multiple parks and sports fields in Rumson, including Victory Park, Meadow Ridge Park and Piping Rock Memorial Park. Also located in Rumson are the Rumson Country Club was founded in 1908. In addition to the 18 hole golf course, the club offers platform tennis, a marina, swimming pool, tennis and trap & skeet shooting. And Seabright Lawn and Tennis & Cricket Club founded in 1877 is the oldest lawn tennis club and cricket club in the United States.
Restaurants
Whether it is a casual meal or refined Italian fare, you’ll be sure to find it close to home. The following are just a few options available. Undici is a farmhouse-style eatery with a Tuscan menu. Barnacle Bill’s is a Rumson must with its nautical decor and hearty servings of seafood in a casual waterfront sports bar. Another waterfront restaurant is Salt Creek Grille serving American cuisine plus a lively bar and river views.

River Road in Rumson contains a few options for shopping, J.McLaughlin, Le Papillon, a clothing & accessories boutique and Bain’s Outdoor Living, which offers gifts and decor for the home. Just a few minutes down the road in Red Bank you have upscale shopping available at Garmany & Coco Pari, as well as large retail brands such as Urban Outfitters. Another choice is The Grove and The Grove West in Shewsbury, this open air shopping area is home to J.Crew, Anthropologie, Athleta, lululemon athletica, Blue Mercury, to name a few.
